Enrollment & Registration Process
Come in for a Tour
Schedule a tour! This is a great time for families to see our facilities and meet the Administrative staff. Learning at QEI of Durham is based on a partnership between our school and our families. This is when that partnership begins!
*** Students must be 4 years old before November 1 and fully toilet trained to enroll. ***
Complete an Application
Now is the time for families to download and complete the APPLICATION. The application fee is $25. The application also requires submitting important documents such as:
- Birth Certificate
- Previous Report Cards (Grades 1st thru 5th)
- Previous Standardized Test Scores (Grades 1st thru 5th)
- Immunization Records (In addition to the medical information requested on the application)
Student Testing
Once your family completes the application, notify the staff at QEI. Your family will be contacted to bring in your student for an assessment. Assessing each child is done to determine proper placement for your child within our school. You will be provided a summary of the results and an idea of the best placement at QEI.
Acceptance
While it is our desire to meet the needs of every student, QEI cannot provide enrollment to certain students whose educational, behavioral, or physical needs exceed our program offerings and staff capabilities. QEI is a private school and may not be able to support Individual Educational Plans issued by the public school system. We ask that you provide a copy of the IEP so that we may assess our ability to possibly support your student.
If we have a spot available and are able to provide adequate resources to support your child, your family will receive an official letter of acceptance from QEI. This is an invitation, not only for your student to attend our school, but also for your family to become a part of our family.
Once the family receives the acceptance letter, the family can secure the child’s spot at our school by paying the enrollment fee of $550
2025 Tuition and fees
Annual tuition is $10,000 with various payment options available for your convenience. Sibling and Southside Church member discounts are available to help reduce overall tuition costs. Explore our comprehensive tuition and fee schedule:

Before and After School Care
Before Care starts at 7:30 AM
After-School Care (3:30 PM – 6 PM)
Our after-school care program provides a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children after the school day ends. We offer homework assistance, educational activities, and supervised play to ensure a balanced mix of learning and fun. A light snack is also provided.
Rates:
Daily Rate: $20 per day
Monthly Rate: $300
$1 per minute late fee for after-school care
Field Trips
We occasionally plan exciting field trips to enhance learning and provide enriching experiences outside the classroom. Destinations may include museums, parks, science centers, and other educational or recreational venues.
Cost:
Field trip fees will vary depending on the destination and event. Pricing will be communicated in advance. Parents will be responsible for covering admission and any additional expenses related to the trip.
